About this property:
Hemphill ranch is located 28 mi west of
Sonora
and 12 mi east of Ozona
Texas
on I10. We are in the Edwards plateau region on the
edge of the Texas Hill country where we have hills with
beautiful live oak draws. Our managed terrain has
abundant habitat cover for native wildlife while
providing beautiful views of sunsets, valleys, hilltops
and stars. Most parts of the ranch are accessible by
pickup on caliche or pasture roads. We are lightly
stocked with traditional livestock and the past 2 years
of abundant rain has produced excellent conditions for
large racks and body weight of our deer as well as
large bunches of turkeys which will literally come up to
the porches of the houses.
The
Circle Bar Truck Stop and Super 8 hotel is conveniently
located 4 miles from the front gate where they have a
restaurant and 52 room capacity hotel with indoor pool
and conference room. The Ozona airport can accommodate
Gulf
Stream and
below aircraft with its 1 mile airstrip which supports
8500 lb crafts. The
Caverns of Sonora are located
approximately 20 miles from the ranch. These scenic
caverns are world renowned for their beautiful and
unique formations and have 2 mile / 1 hr 45 minute
tours. Sonora
offers a "jewel of
West
Texas" 9
hole golf course with bent grass greens, sand, water and
beautiful old live oaks. Both
Sonora
and Ozona host "Hunter Extravaganzas" which provide a
great time with wonderful food and offer a wide array of
raffled guns and ATVs.
In addition to the 12
bed bunk house, Hemphill Ranch offers bed and breakfast
accommodations at the Ranch
House for special guests or occasions for an
additional fee.
